All breeds of dogs have health conditions that are common to their particular breed. Bull terriers are no different. Many conditions are in direct relation to the characteristics desirable in the breed.
If you are adopting an older dog, many of these conditions should already have been identified.
Since not all veterinarians are knowledgeable about the health conditions and problems which bull terriers may have, find a veterinarian who knows and likes bull terriers.
Some veterinarians do not like bull terriers, and no matter how good the veterinarian is, he/she is not right for your bull terrier.
This is one of the reasons why it is good to join a local, regional Bull Terrier Club. Many of the members may be able to recommend veterinarians who are familiar with bull terriers.
